QUESTIONS

  • What is the school environment like?
    Our school is a welcoming place for both students and parents with limited access to the general public. The premises are secured and monitored by our onsite security and camera surveillance.This combination provides an environment that is conducive to student success.
  • What are the school hours?
    Full-time School begins at 8.15am and end at 2.30pm. Some classes end at 2.45pm. Part-time classes are on evenings 4.00pm to 6.00pm and on Saturday 8.30am to 4.15pm.
  • Are students allowed to leave the school compound?
    No full-time student is permitted to leave the school compound during school hours unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. Part-time students under 18 years may be allowed to leave school once parent/guardian has consented.
  • Does the school register students for CXC examinations?
    The school register all full-time students for CXC examination. Part-time students (private candidates) must register with Ministry of Education (MOE) to sit examination. However, private candidates are guided during examination registration period.
  • Are classes online or physical?
    All our full time classes are face-to-face classes however, our online platform is still used to share learning resources and other materials. Our part-time classes adopt a blended teaching approach. Students benefit from both online and face-to-face classes.
  • Are extra-curricular activities available at ULEI?
    The school offers co-curricular programmes for forms 1 to 3 conducted by external instructors. These complement what students learn in class and support intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development. All other students are encouraged to participate in a range of school activities that will enhance their physical and social development.
  • How does the school communicate with parents?
    All correspondence with parents come directly from our office via written notices, phone calls or emails. If other mediums are implemented parent will be informed accordingly.
  • Are students assessed during the school terms?
    Three formal written internal assessments are conducted during each term; course exam 1, 2 and End of Term for full-time students.
  • What are the qualifications of the Teachers?
    We hire highly qualified and experienced Teachers with a minimum of a first degree in the respective subject area.
  • What is the size of a regular class?
    A regular classroom can accommodate approximately 36 students. Our classes are engaging and encourage student learning. If weak students are identified they are given additional help by our teaching assistants.
